Programs we administer

Florida Water Star is a certification program for homes and commercial buildings that use less water in landscapes, irrigation systems and indoors.

Florida's water management districts designate Triconic as the program's administrator, and the program's own materials describe it as administered by Triconic, LLC. Florida Water Star certification has run on CriteriaOS since 2017.

Florida Water Star certified homes save up to 6,000 gallons indoors and up to 48,000 gallons outdoors each year.

The Certified Ratings Program, sponsored by the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA), provides certified energy ratings certificates for new single-family homes, energy rating certificates for homes that are already built, and certified Florida Water Star^SM and Water Efficiency Rating Score (WERS) rating certificates for buildings.

Through approved inspectors, the program covers certified code calculations, blower door tests, Energy Rating Index (ERI) ratings, and standalone validated energy inspections.

FHBA sponsors the program, and Triconic administers it on CriteriaOS, including its online training through the CriteriaOS Learning Center.

The Water Efficiency Rating Score (WERS) is a performance-based water efficiency program for both new and existing residential properties. This approach to water efficiency preserves design freedom and product choice flexibility. Third-party analysis and data collection is utilized to generate both a score and predict water usage for single-family and multifamily properties.

The Green Builder Coalition owns WERS. Since 2018, Triconic has worked with GBC to develop the WERS certification program, helped secure WaterSense accreditation, and represented the program at the annual Next Generation Water Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico. WERS now runs fully on CriteriaOS, including verifier approvals, rating data, and certificates. CriteriaOS issues both the preliminary and the final WERS certificate, so a city can require a preliminary rating before the building permit and a final rating after construction, as Santa Fe does.

WaterSense, a voluntary partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is both a label for water-efficient products and new homes and a resource for helping people save water.

The WaterSense label makes it simple to find water-efficient products, new homes, and programs that meet EPA’s criteria for efficiency and performance. WaterSense-labeled products and services are certified to use at least 20 percent less water, save energy, and perform as well as or better than regular models.

The Green Builder Coalition is one of the organizations EPA has approved to certify WaterSense labeled homes. Triconic helped secure that accreditation for GBC and administers GBC's WaterSense program on CriteriaOS.
